Trattoria Nervosa is an intimate Toronto restaurant that pairs effortless casual dining with a chic European feel. Although the restaurant had a loyal following from over two decades in the biz, owner Janet Zuccarini felt it was time for a reinvention of the brand that would put Nervosa on par with some of her favourite casual comfort spots in New York, London and Rome.
The new identity, inspired by old family photographs of Nervosa’s owner and general manager, reflects the welcoming, casual atmosphere of the restaurant. Unlike many of the other offerings in the neighbourhood, Trattoria Nervosa is a place where you can get a great meal at a great price, and we wanted the brand to maintain that tone. Central to the execution of this strategy was the use of vintage photographs in the primary marketing materials, which included business cards, menus, table accessories, website and logo.
